This article is dedicated to Mr. Bhimsen Panda, my role model & teacher, who have been a source of inspiration & support for me. Sir, this is for you.
Who is God? I think this is by far the most controversial or most asked question of all time which had largely affected our way of thinking. God is our creator, a being which is responsible for the beginning of our universe. Throughout the history, people have been giving many ideas or views. In response to these ideas, people started to believe in some forms of powers which rule the cosmos. After the formation of human civilization, people started to break apart within many believes which is called religion. Today there are Christianity, Islam, Hinduism & Buddhism as major religions along with other kind of minor religions. Every religion has its ideas about the nature. Each & every religion believes in different forms of superpower. All these are OK till social level, but when it comes to science, all these are dismissed. Science doesn’t believe in creator or God because there’s no experimental prove of existence of any kind of super being throughout the universe. Science makes God meaningless. Almost no scientist believes in God. All are atheist. But there’re still few of them, who keep believe in a creator. Prof. Stephen Hawking, regarded as one of the greatest physicist & cosmologist of the century, said in his book The Grand Design that science makes God unnecessary. Only the laws of nature rule. Now I want to be a scientist (astrophysicist) in future. So what view do I hold?
Few years ago, I wasn’t thinking on all these matters as I was too young. But all of a sudden, some days or months earlier, I started to think on the topic. Who is our God? Who created us? The top most priority goes to laws of nature. So, for me laws of nature is the creator or God. Every where we see, every thing is dominated by laws of nature. But still questions arise, was there no one who had tuned the laws of nature? Is it not reasonable to state that so finely-tuned laws of nature are results of cosmic consciousness? Laws of nature are very precise. Preciseness needs measurement. Measurement needs consciousness. It would be foolish to conclude that universe existed without anyone’s interference. For instance, we believe that there’s no creator of our universe. Then how universe created without consciousness? Did such precise laws of nature are result of nothing? As discussed in my article, Life: The Greatest Masterpiece Of The Universe, if the values of constants like the strength of gravity or strong nuclear force change by a factor or two, then the universe & life wouldn’t be possible. The existence of life is the greatest wonder of nature which needs serious accuracy. Then will we still say that universe came to existence out of nothing? Yes, the ideas discussed in religions may not be totally correct at all, but it is hard to believe that such accurate & precise measurements of constants are just the result of nothing. Universe might have creators who had set the universe to evolve by setting some constants.
As I have just mentioned in the first paragraph, there’s no experimental prove of existence of any kind of super being throughout the universe, there’s also no experimental prove of non-existence of any kind of super being throughout the universe. So God may exist. As Hawking had also mentioned & I also believe, there’s no personal God. But there are some divine forces of nature which resulted in the creation of the universe. In the present level, as there’s no definite explanation, I believe laws of nature as God because they had created us, the cosmos. But we’re seeking for the God of God, that is, the creator of laws of nature. I’ve some ideas regarding the creator of the universe. Let’s have a look.
There’s a wild possibility of who may be God. As in our case, we’re going to make artificial intelligence machines which would surpass human intelligence. Now our main trouble is that we don’t know what would be the consequences of such artificial intelligence uprising. They could dominate the entire planet (chances are more). I’ve researched on this topic & devised few laws to prevent them. Along with these, I had also mentioned the concept of ‘virtual world’, the world which is artificially produced & appear like real world. Now what we can do is that we can synthesis our robots as we desire & start to develop them inside this virtual world with all the features necessary. We’ve to make it in such a way that they couldn’t acknowledge about our existence. By these, we could observe their behaviors & if they’re positive or non-destructive, then we could make them in real world, that is on our planet. Or do the reverse, if they’re negative or destructive. By taking this into view, we can theorize that maybe we’re a part of such experiment. That is, maybe some advanced civilization of outer space had thought to develop artificial intelligence as we’re thinking. Then they maybe stopped by thinking about their consequence same as we’re thinking about artificial intelligence uprising. After thinking a lot, maybe they devised a virtual world for artificial intelligence. And these artificial intelligence are the whole living species on earth including humans. They’ve been observing us but we can’t acknowledge their existence. They made all the laws of our universe & now we’re living. So maybe we’re living in a virtual world where reality is artificially produced. We’re actually a part of an experiment. What we’re thinking to do with next generation of artificial intelligence had done with us by some advanced civilization to observe our consequences as conscious beings. If everything is fine, then they’ll make us again in real world where we’ll live with them. If opposite happens, then reverse will be done. Such things, though bizarre & seems ultimately impossible may be a reality of what we’re seeing. That’s why we’re not able to either experimentally prove the existence of creator or not able to disprove. The civilization or our creators are observing what we will do after getting conscious lives. Or maybe they’re observing us to have a look over formation of their own civilization. Possibilities are lot, but reality is same.
If we take the same idea into account, we could theorize one another thing that maybe (word ‘maybe’ is highlighted because certainty of this idea equals almost to zero) the concept of heaven is correct. As I’ve mentioned, if that advanced civilization finds us non-destructive or as they desired, then they’ll synthesis us in real worlds, maybe after death, our prototype is synthesized there in the real world. Those who are not according to their desire, simply die in the virtual one because they’re useless. (See, the idea of virtual world maybe correct to few extends. But the idea of heaven may not be correct to a lot of extends. But maybe this is correct).
Such ideas, though seems bizarre, maybe a reality of our existence. We maybe are living in a virtual world where we’re the part of big experiments. No one knows the reality. I’ve no question to make except, is it possible that such accurately tuned laws of nature are just results of nothing? Is it possible that no one created our universe & its vast expanses? If our universe is very simple without anything complex; without stars, galaxies, matters, forces, life then to some extends we could think that such universe needs no creator. But things are very different in our case. Our universe is very complex. It’s very dynamic since life existed in this universe which is by far the greatest masterpiece of the nature & universe. For now, I’m considering (and everyone should consider) laws of nature as creator or God. Because it is laws of nature which brought our universe into existence. Now our target should be who is the God of our God (laws of nature). If we believe in the idea of virtual world, then some questions arise, who is the God of that civilization? Who had created that real world? Suppose, we know their God, then who is their God’s God? So it’s quite doubtable whether we could reveal ultimate creator or not. This is not only in this concept of creator, but in every case. There’s a proverb, “every problem has solution & every solution has problem”. To say, one after another we’re getting questions after revealing something. Are there any limits to explanation? No one knows whether the series of question & answer would ever end or not. Maybe we’re under illusion, mirage, where we’re getting illusions of questions after questions because we may have got consciousness only for this reason. Here one thing is quite certain that no one can reveal ultimate reality. What is the truth may never reveal. Is there ultimate beginning & end or everything just existed forever? If there’s ultimate beginning & end, then what happened before that & what will happen after that? If everything just existed forever, then such cycles of beginning & end will go forever. But who had first started the cycle?
It’ll be meaningless to say God doesn’t exist. This is by far the most controversial question. So it has been confusing us. But we’re not able to look through this. God exist but it’ll be different for one another. God is creator. Then scientifically too, it exist because scientifically laws of nature is creator. Religious Gods don’t exist because these are our imagination. The concept of such Gods started when our ancestor didn’t understand how the universe works. But now we are knowing. Though religious Gods don’t exist, God in the form of creator do exist. But where it is hiding is still the greatest scientific mystery for mankind. In an Indian science fiction film, Robot, an artificial intelligence robot named Chitti, is asked in evaluation that whether God exist or not. Then Chitti asked, what is God? After knowing God as the creator, Chitti answered yes & told the name of his creator Dr. Vaseegaran – the scientist who had made him. So logically God exist. Our question must not be whether one believes in God or not, but the question must be who is God or who is the creator of the entire nature as a whole.
The question, who is God? is one of the most controversial & most asked question of all time. In the coming centuries we’ll be able to answer this question but again another question will come in front of us. No one knows whether the chain of question & answer will ever shut down or not. This article Who is God? tries to discuss the aspects of creator. It really doesn’t answer this question. Though possibilities like virtual world is presented here as an answer, but the ultimate answer is under darkness. Until this level, it is better to answer this question as laws of nature. As laws of nature had created & is running the universe, it is better to believe God as laws of nature. But the question, who had made these laws is still to be answered by mankind. But again new questions will arrive to us. Maybe, the reason behind getting birth as the most complex & intelligent being (if no life forms exist more complex than homo sapiens in the universe) is to reveal the realities one by one. The most important things other beings do are – eating, surviving & defending. If you observe the lives of other beings, except humans, then you’ll see that they do nothing special except these three naturally. (I’ve highlighted the term ‘naturally’ because by nature living organisms do these three things, but sometimes human beings use these organisms in circuses or in experiments like sending them to space to see whether they could survive or not. So, by nature, they do these three, but sometimes they’re used in other purposes too by humans). But why humans, which are also living beings, do other works than these three? We humans also do these three important things primarily, but we’re also involved in other works. So we are special. I think that the reason behind this is that we’re made in such a way just to reveal the realities of nature. Maybe we’ll be engaged in these always. Maybe we’re climbing in stairs which never ends, just go forward. Because if we seek the ultimate truth or reality, then we would have no works to do except these three & thus we & other beings will not have any difference. And there will leave no meaning to make such complex & super conscious beings. Maybe we’re in a sphere of questions & answers which never ends. Once, when I was a kid, I often used to think what will happen if one goes in a particular direction of earth forever without stopping? Will we not fall down ever? How will be the boundary of earth? Then when I grew up, I learnt that earth is sphere. After going forever, one day who will return to the same point from where you started your journey. So, these questions & answers are simply spherical or cyclic which will just go forever with no end. But maybe one day we get reach to the place from where we started. Maybe this day will never come because; from that day there’ll not be any work of humans. Or maybe when that day comes, the universe will end up & once again start from where it first started its odyssey. No one could chase horizon. Horizon of reality will be chased forever but never achieved…We humans will be forever chasing God’s God’s God’s God’s God…but could never achieve the ultimate God. That’s how a human odyssey will continue forever which never ends…

Spinoza said…”In nature there is nothing contingent, but all things are determined from the necessity of the divine nature to exist and act in a certain manner.”
Einstein said…”Most philosophers try to construct a philosophy of the man within nature, while Spinoza built a philosophy of Nature inside the man” .

In “The Grand Design” Stephen Hawking postulates that the M-theory may be the Holy Grail of physics…the Grand Unified Theory which Einstein had tried to formulate but never completed. It expands on quantum mechanics and string theories.
In my ebook “the greatest achievement in life,” on comparative mysticism, is a quote by Albert Einstein: “…most beautiful and profound emotion we can experience is the sensation of the mystical. It is the sower of all true science. To know that what is impenetrable to us really exists, manifesting itself as the highest wisdom and most radiant beauty – which our dull faculties can comprehend only in their primitive form – this knowledge, this feeling, is at the center of all religion.”
E=mc², Einstein’s Special Theory of Relativity, is probably the best known scientific equation. I revised it to help better understand the relationship between divine Essence (Love, Grace, Spirit), matter (mass/energy: visible/dark) and consciousness (f(x) raised to its greatest power). Unlike the speed of light, which is a constant, there are no exact measurements for consciousness. In this hypothetical formula, basic consciousness may be of insects, to the second power of animals and to the third power the rational mind of humans. The fourth power is suprarational consciousness of mystics, when they intuit the divine essence in perceived matter. This was a convenient analogy, but there cannot be a divine formula.

Well, what was written above would like to remind that the metaphysical philosophy of Henri Bergson is entirely based on intuition and much guided by Einstein’s relativity.
